Version 2.4 Effective date: August 26, 2026 Last updated: August 26, 2026
This version supersedes all earlier versions. The version that applies to your order is the one shown to you and recorded when you placed it. Changes in v2.4: shipping is described as passed through with no markup; finishing/hand-work is described generically and only where offered at checkout; the recital is simplified. No change to your rights or to how you're charged.
Plain-English summary
This summary is here to help you. It is not the agreement — the numbered sections below are. If they ever conflict, the numbered sections win.
- We are a small 3D-printing shop in Tucson, Arizona. You upload a file, our system quotes it automatically, and if you buy it, we print it.
- We print what you send us. We don't check whether your part is strong enough, safe enough, or right for what you're going to do with it. That's on you.
- Don't use our parts for anything safety-critical — nothing load-bearing, medical, automotive, aerospace, or firearm-related. Full list in §5.
- You have to own the rights to what you upload, or have permission to print it. If someone sues us because you didn't, you cover us.
- 3D printing has limits. Layer lines, small dimensional variance, and marks where supports were removed are normal. They're not defects.
- Quotes are automatic estimates. We can review a job and adjust the price before we finalize it, or decline it.
- If your order needs finishing or hand-work, or is otherwise flagged for review, we place a temporary hold on your card for the quoted amount plus a padding percentage — not a charge. After we review the job, we charge you the real final amount, which is almost always less. You will never be charged more than the hold.
- Once we start printing, we generally can't refund you — your part is custom-made and can't be resold.
- If we mess up, we'll reprint or refund. But our total liability is capped at what you paid for that order.
1. Who we are, and what this agreement covers
1.1 Q Fab Labs LLC is an Arizona limited liability company based in Tucson, Arizona, United States, operating as Q Fabrication Labs ("Q Fabrication Labs," "we," "us," "our").
You are contracting with Q Fab Labs LLC. "Q Fabrication Labs" is the name we trade under; the company is the party to this agreement, and the company alone is liable under it.
1.1.2 How to reach us. Email [email protected]. That's our contact channel for everything — questions, order problems, cancellations, privacy requests, and legal notices. We read it, and a person replies.
1.1.1 What "we" and "us" mean. We're a small operation, and not every pair of hands belongs to the same person. "We" and "us" include the company and anyone we bring in to help produce, finish, pack, or ship your order — an employee, a contractor, or a partner shop we use for a step we can't do in-house. Anyone in that group gets only what they need for the job, may use it only for your order, and is bound to keep your file and your details confidential. Nobody outside that group sees your file. See §6.6 and our Privacy Policy §4.1.
1.2 These Terms of Service (the "Terms") govern your use of qfablabs.com (the "Site") and any 3D-printing, finishing, and related services we provide (together, the "Services"). qfablabs.com is our website; [email protected] is how you reach us. Those are the only addresses you need.
1.3 You accept these Terms by checking the agreement box at checkout, or by otherwise placing an order with us. If you don't agree to them, don't place an order.
1.4 We version these Terms. The version you agreed to at checkout is the one that governs your order, and we record which version that was, along with the date and time. We may change these Terms for future orders; changes never apply retroactively to an order you've already placed.
1.5 You must be at least 18 years old to place an order. If you're ordering on behalf of a company, you're confirming you have authority to bind that company to these Terms.
1.6 We serve the United States only. We accept orders only from customers in the United States, and we only ship to U.S. addresses. We do not accept international orders and cannot ship outside the U.S. If you place an order from outside the United States, we'll cancel and refund it.
2. What we actually do
2.1 The service. We produce parts using fused deposition modeling (FDM) — molten plastic extruded in layers — on a Bambu Lab H2D printer, using Bambu Lab filaments. We manufacture what you give us. We do not design, engineer, validate, or review your model for you.
2.2 How ordering works. There are three ways to order:
- Standard quote. You upload an
.stlor.stepfile, pick a material, choose a quantity, and set print quality using two sliders (how fine the layers are, and how solid the inside of the part is). Our system slices the file automatically and prices it. - Multi-material quote (where available). You upload a
.3mfproject file that already carries your material assignments, and we price it the same way. This option is offered only when it appears on the Site — if you don't see it, it isn't currently available, and nothing here obliges us to offer it. - Large / custom request. For jobs that are too big for the printer, or that need extra work, you send us the file and a description and we get back to you with a manual quote. There is no automatic price for these.
2.3 The settings you choose are your choices. The sliders let you trade cost and speed against strength and appearance. We describe the trade-offs in plain terms on the order form, but the settings you pick are your decision, and they materially affect how strong and how good-looking your part is. We print at the settings you selected. If you choose a fast, hollow, coarse setting and the part is weak or rough, that is the expected result of your choice, not a defect.
2.4 Orientation and supports. Unless we've agreed otherwise in writing, we decide how to orient your part on the build plate and where support structures go. These choices affect print time, strength (FDM parts are weaker across layer lines than along them), and where surface marks appear. If orientation matters to your part, tell us in the order notes or use the custom request form — and understand we may charge more or decline.
2.5 We may make minor process adjustments. We may make small, non-geometric adjustments to slicing and printing so the job runs successfully (bed adhesion, brims, seams, and similar). We won't change your part's geometry without asking you.
3. No warranty of fitness for purpose
3.1 This is the most important section in this agreement. Please read it.
3.2 SOLD AS IS.
ALL PARTS ARE SOLD "AS IS" AND "WITH ALL FAULTS."
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE MAKE NO WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION THE IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.
YOU ASSUME THE ENTIRE RISK AS TO WHETHER ANY PART WE MAKE IS SAFE, FUNCTIONAL, DURABLE, LEGAL, OR SUITABLE FOR YOUR INTENDED USE.
WE ARE A MANUFACTURING SERVICE, NOT AN ENGINEERING OR DESIGN FIRM. WE PRINT THE FILE YOU GIVE US, AT THE SETTINGS YOU CHOOSE. WE DO NOT EVALUATE YOUR DESIGN, AND WE DO NOT VERIFY THAT IT WILL WORK.
(In plain English: we're a print shop, not your engineer. We make the thing you asked for. Deciding whether that thing is any good for the job is your responsibility, not ours.)
3.3 We warrant only that we will print your model on the material you selected, at the settings you selected, to a standard consistent with normal, well-calibrated FDM 3D printing (see §4 for what that means in practice).
3.4 We make no warranty of any kind about the model itself, or about the part that results from it. In particular, we do not warrant, and expressly disclaim, that a part will be:
- strong enough for any load, force, stress, impact, or fatigue you subject it to;
- safe for any use, user, or environment;
- dimensionally correct for any assembly, fit, or mating component;
- durable, watertight, airtight, food-safe, heat-resistant, chemical-resistant, UV-stable, biocompatible, or electrically insulating;
- fit for any particular purpose whatsoever.
3.5 You alone are responsible for deciding whether a printed part is suitable for what you intend to do with it, including whether you chose the right material, the right settings, and a sound design. You are responsible for testing and inspecting the part before you rely on it for anything.
3.6 Material selection is your responsibility. We publish general information about our materials as a convenience. That information is not engineering advice, is not a specification, and is not a guarantee of performance. Real-world strength depends on your geometry, your settings, print orientation, and how the part is used — and it is not the same as the numbers on a filament manufacturer's data sheet.
3.7 To the fullest extent allowed by Arizona and federal law, we disclaim all implied warranties, including the implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. Some states don't allow certain implied warranties to be disclaimed, so parts of this section may not apply to you.
4. What FDM printing actually looks like (and what counts as a defect)
FDM is a layer-by-layer process. It has physical limits. The following are inherent characteristics of the process, not defects, and are not grounds for a refund, reprint, or claim:
4.1 Visible layer lines. Every part will show horizontal layering. Finer layer-height settings reduce this; they never eliminate it.
4.2 Dimensional variance. Our working tolerance is approximately ±0.5% of a nominal dimension, with a floor of ±0.5 mm — meaning a 100 mm feature may measure 99.5–100.5 mm, and a 10 mm feature may still vary by up to ±0.5 mm. Accuracy in the Z (height) axis is generally worse than in X/Y, because Z is limited by layer height. If you need tighter tolerances than this, FDM is not the right process, and we are not the right shop.
4.3 Holes and mating features print undersized. Circular holes typically come out 0.1–0.5 mm smaller than modeled. Design your clearances accordingly (a common rule of thumb is 0.3–0.5 mm of gap per side for a loose fit). We print your geometry as supplied; we do not compensate your dimensions for you.
4.4 Support witness marks. Where supports touch your part, the surface will be rougher and may show blemishes or small scars. Support removal is mechanical and imperfect. If your model needs supports, our system adds an automatic support-removal fee and tells you so before you pay.
4.5 Warping, shrinkage, and stringing. Thermoplastics shrink as they cool. Large flat areas may lift or bow slightly; corners may round; fine features may show minor stringing or blobbing.
4.6 Color and finish variation. Color may vary slightly between filament spools and between print runs. Surface sheen varies with geometry.
4.7 Anisotropy. FDM parts are meaningfully weaker across layer lines than along them. A part may be strong in one direction and snap easily in another.
4.8 What is a defect. A part is defective if it is materially different from your uploaded model, printed in the wrong material, printed at settings other than the ones you selected, badly delaminated or under-extruded, or damaged in a way that clearly resulted from our process. See §10 for what happens then.
4.9 Inspect promptly. Please inspect your parts as soon as you receive them and tell us within ten (10) days of delivery if you believe something is defective, with photos. After ten days we consider the order accepted.
5. What we won't print, and what you must not use our parts for
5.1 Prohibited uses — safety-critical applications
You must not order parts from us, and must not use any part we make, for any safety-critical application. Specifically prohibited:
- Load-bearing or structural use — anything where failure could cause injury or property damage (mounts, brackets, hooks, climbing gear, ladders, jacks, lifting equipment, structural supports).
- Medical, dental, veterinary, surgical, or prosthetic use, and anything that contacts the body internally or is implanted.
- Automotive, motorcycle, marine, or any other vehicle component that affects safety, control, braking, steering, suspension, fuel, or restraint systems.
- Aerospace, aviation, drone, or spaceflight components.
- Firearm components, firearm accessories, ammunition components, suppressors, magazines, receivers, or any component of a weapon — including "80%" or unfinished receivers, and including anything designed to convert or modify a firearm. We do not print these under any circumstances.
- Pressure vessels, gas or liquid containment under pressure, or anything carrying flammable or hazardous substances.
- Electrical components carrying mains voltage, and anything in sustained contact with heat or open flame.
- Toys for children under three (3) years old, or anything a small child could put in their mouth. FDM parts have small features that can break off.
- Food, drink, or cosmetic contact. FDM parts are porous, have layer crevices that harbor bacteria, and are printed with nozzles and filaments we make no food-safety representation about. Do not use our parts with food, drink, or anything applied to the body — this includes "sealed" or coated parts.
- Anything where failure could reasonably result in death, injury, or significant property damage.
If you order a part for any of these uses, you are in breach of these Terms, and you assume the entire risk of that use. We are not liable for any consequence of it, and your indemnity under §6.4 applies.
5.2 Prohibited items
We won't print, and you must not upload, anything that:
- infringes anyone's copyright, patent, trademark, trade dress, design right, or trade secret, including counterfeits, unlicensed replicas of branded or copyrighted characters, products, or logos, and unauthorized reproductions of paid or licensed models;
- is a weapon or weapon component, or is designed to defeat a lock, security device, alarm, or access-control system;
- facilitates fraud, theft, or unauthorized access (card skimmers, key duplicators, ATM overlays, badge or credential clones);
- depicts child sexual abuse material, or is obscene or unlawful under Arizona or U.S. federal law;
- promotes hatred or violence against people on the basis of race, ethnicity, religion, disability, sex, gender identity, or sexual orientation;
- involves drugs, drug paraphernalia, or controlled substances where prohibited by law;
- would violate U.S. export control laws or sanctions, or that you intend to send to a sanctioned country, entity, or person;
- is otherwise illegal.
5.3 Our right to refuse
We may refuse, pause, or cancel any order, at any time, for any reason or no reason — including because a file breaks these Terms, because we can't print it reliably, because it's too large for our printer, because the automated quote was wrong, because we're at capacity, or simply because we'd rather not. We are not obligated to explain why.
- If we refuse an order before we've started printing, we refund you in full (or release the hold), and that refund is your sole remedy.
- If we discover a violation of §5.1 or §5.2 after we've already printed the part, we may destroy it and keep the payment. We won't ship a part we believe violates these Terms.
- We may report unlawful material to the appropriate authorities.
We do not pre-screen uploads. Our quoting is automated. The fact that our system accepted a file and produced a quote is not an endorsement, approval, or confirmation that we'll print it, that it's lawful, or that it's suitable for anything.
6. Your files and your intellectual property
6.1 Your model stays yours. You keep all ownership and intellectual property rights in the files you upload. We claim no ownership of your designs. We do not sell, publish, share, or resell your model files.
6.2 You warrant that you have the rights. By uploading a file and placing an order, you represent and warrant that:
- you own the model, or you hold a valid license or permission that allows it to be 3D printed for your intended use — including for commercial use, if you're going to sell the resulting parts; and
- printing it, finishing it, and delivering it to you does not infringe any third party's intellectual property rights or any license terms attached to the model (including the non-commercial restrictions common in Creative Commons and marketplace licenses); and
- everything you tell us about the order is accurate.
6.3 The license you grant us. You grant us a limited, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to store, copy, slice, process, transmit, and print your file solely to produce your order, support it, and comply with the law. That's the whole scope. We will not use your file to train machine-learning models, and we will not use it for any commercial purpose other than fulfilling your order. This license ends when we delete your file (§9 and the Privacy Policy).
6.4 Your indemnity. You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold us harmless from any claim, demand, loss, damage, liability, penalty, or cost (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of or related to:
- any claim that your file, or a part we printed from it, infringes someone's intellectual property rights;
- your breach of these Terms, including any prohibited use under §5.1 or prohibited item under §5.2;
- your use of, or anyone else's use of, a part we made for you; and
- anything you told us that turned out not to be true.
This survives the end of your order and of these Terms.
6.5 Takedowns. If a rights holder tells us your file infringes their rights, we may cancel the order, refuse to ship, and — if the part is still in our possession — destroy it. We'll let you know. Depending on the circumstances we may refund you, may not, and §6.4 still applies.
6.6 Confidentiality. We treat your model files as confidential. The only people who see your file are the people working on your order — that is, "us" as defined in §1.1.1 — and each of them is bound to keep it confidential and to use it only to make your part. The only other exceptions are the service providers listed in our Privacy Policy (our storage, payment, and email providers) and a lawful legal request. We do not publish, sell, resell, license, or otherwise share your file with anyone else.
If your design is commercially sensitive and you'd like a signed NDA before you upload it, email us before you order and we'll arrange one.
6.7 Photos of your part — your call, and it's off by default.
6.7.1 We'd love to show people what we make. But your design might be an unreleased product, a client's prototype, or something you're under your own NDA about — so we don't post anything without your permission.
6.7.2 At checkout there's a checkbox: "You may photograph my finished part and use the photos to promote Q Fabrication Labs." It is unticked by default. If you leave it unticked, we will not publish, post, or display anything relating to your order, anywhere. That's the end of it — no follow-up, no exceptions, and it does not affect your price, your priority, or how we treat your job in any way.
6.7.3 If you do tick it, you grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to photograph and film the physical printed part and to use those images to promote the business — on our website, our social media, and in our marketing. That's the whole scope, and these limits are part of it:
- We only ever show the physical object. We will never publish, share, or distribute your model file itself, or a screenshot, render, or CAD view of it.
- You stay anonymous unless you separately tell us in writing that we can name you or your company.
- We won't show your notes, your contact details, or what you paid.
- We won't sell, license, or hand the photos to anyone else for their own marketing.
- We won't print your design again, for ourselves or anyone else. Permission to photograph a part is not permission to reproduce it.
6.7.4 You can change your mind at any time. Email us and we'll take the photos down from anything we control, as soon as we reasonably can. We can't claw back a repost or a screenshot someone else already took — so if your design is genuinely sensitive, please just leave the box unticked.
6.7.5 Ticking the box is also you confirming you actually have the right to let us do this — that photos of the part won't breach anyone else's rights or an NDA you're under. §6.4 (your indemnity) applies here too.
6.8 Our IP. The Site, our branding, our pricing engine, and our print profiles are ours. Buying a part doesn't give you any rights to them.
7. Quotes and pricing
7.1 Quotes are automated estimates. When you upload a file, our software slices it automatically to estimate how much material it will use and how long it will take to print, then applies our pricing formula. This is an estimate produced by software with no human involvement.
7.2 We may review and adjust. Automated slicing gets things wrong. Material estimates are usually accurate; time estimates in particular can be off by 10% or more, and unusual geometry can throw either off badly. We reserve the right to review any order and adjust the price before finalizing it, or to decline the order and refund you in full. A quote is an estimate, not a binding offer, until we accept and finalize the order.
7.2a Paying us does not mean we've accepted your order. Submitting payment — or authorising a hold — does not create a binding contract, and does not oblige us to print anything. We accept your order only when we begin printing it. Until that moment we may review your file, decline the job for any reason under §5.3 or §7.2, and refund you in full or release the hold. Taking your money does not commit us to the job; starting your print does.
7.3 What's in the price. Your quote covers material, machine time, setup, any support removal or finishing your part needs, rush if you choose it, and estimated shipping — plus sales tax where required. Some of these show as their own line (like shipping and tax); the rest are built into your part's price. The full total is always shown before you pay. Choosing local pickup or local delivery waives the shipping charge but does not remove sales tax — see §7.8.3.
7.4 Rush orders. The rush option adds a fee, shown clearly before you pay. Rush means we prioritize your job in our queue. It is not a delivery guarantee, and it does not change any carrier's shipping speed.
7.5 Finishing and hand-work. From time to time we may offer finishing or other hand-work on a part — for example, surface finishing or the installation of hardware. These options are available only when they appear at checkout; if you don't see them, we're not offering them. Finishing and hand-work are handwork, not a manufacturing process: results vary and there is no defined finish standard. They do not change anything in §3, §4, or §5 — in particular, we do not warrant that any finished, assembled, or hardware-installed part is stronger, watertight, food-safe, or fit for any purpose, and an installed fastener or assembled unit is not warranted to bear any load or perform any function. Any order that includes a finishing or hand-work option is reviewed by hand and priced under the authorization-hold model in §8.3.
7.6 Support removal. If your part's geometry needs support structures, support removal is included automatically, and we tell you before you pay — it's shown on your quote as part of your Labor line. This is handwork; some support marks may remain (see §4.4).
7.7 Shipping. We ship within the United States only, and we choose the carrier and service unless we've agreed otherwise with you. Shipping is calculated for your parcel and passed through to you with no markup — the figure in your quote is what you pay, and we don't add anything to it. It's shown before you pay. If the actual cost turns out to be dramatically more than the quote (an unusually large or heavy order, or a remote address), we'll contact you before shipping rather than bill you more. We are not responsible for carrier delays, loss, or damage once the parts leave us — see §10.4.
7.8 Local pickup and local delivery (Tucson area). These are selectable options at checkout, not informal arrangements. Which options you see depends on your address and your order total.
7.8.1 Local pickup — shipping fee waived, where offered. Where we offer local pickup for your order, you'll see Local pickup as an option at checkout; select it and we waive the shipping charge. We'll email you pickup instructions once your order is ready. Bring your order number; we may ask you to confirm your identity, because we're not handing someone else's design to a stranger.
- Local pickup is not offered on every order. When you don't see it at checkout, it isn't currently available — choose shipping, or local delivery if you qualify.
- We may add, change, or stop offering local pickup at any time — but only for orders placed after we do so. A change never affects an order already placed.
- When the option is shown to you at checkout and you select it, we are bound to honour it for that order.
- The options shown to you at checkout govern your order, even if this document describes pickup differently. The Site is the live source of truth for which fulfilment options are available to you.
7.8.2 Local delivery — shipping fee waived on orders of $500 or more. For orders totalling $500 or more, delivered to an address within our Tucson delivery area, you may select Local delivery at checkout and we will deliver the order ourselves at no shipping charge.
- Below the order threshold, or outside the delivery area, the option is disabled at checkout and is not available.
- When this option is offered to you at checkout and you select it, we are bound to honour it for that order.
- We may change the order threshold, change the delivery area, or stop offering local delivery entirely — but only for orders placed after we do so. A change never affects an order already placed.
- The threshold and delivery area shown to you at checkout govern your order, even if this document states different figures. The figures in this section describe our settings as at the effective date above; the Site is the live source of truth, and it will never offer you terms worse than the ones you were shown.
7.8.3 Waiving the shipping fee does not waive sales tax. Local pickup and local delivery are Arizona destinations. Arizona Transaction Privilege Tax applies to your order exactly as it would to a shipped order. We are waiving a delivery charge, not a tax — and we could not waive a tax even if we wanted to.
7.8.4 Risk passes at handover. For pickup and local delivery, your parts become your responsibility the moment they're handed to you (or to anyone you've told us to hand them to).
7.8.5 Failed local delivery. If we attempt a local delivery and nobody is there to receive it, we'll contact you to arrange another time. After two failed attempts, we will treat the order as awaiting pickup, and §7.8.6 applies.
7.8.6 Uncollected orders. We're a small shop with limited shelf space, and we can't store finished work indefinitely. If your order is awaiting pickup and you don't collect it, here is exactly what happens:
- We email you when your order is ready, and the 30-day clock starts then.
- We email you again before the deadline, warning you that we're approaching disposal and telling you the date.
- In that second email we will offer to ship your order to you at your cost — so you always have a way to get your parts other than driving to us.
- If you have not collected your order, arranged shipping, or made other arrangements with us within thirty (30) days of the first notice, we may dispose of the parts, and you will not be refunded.
You've already paid for a custom item that we made to your specification and cannot resell. We're not keeping your money for nothing; we made the thing. What we can't do is store it forever, and we won't dispose of anything without warning you twice and offering you a way out.
7.9 Obvious errors. If a quote is obviously wrong — a bug, a mispriced material, a pricing typo — we may correct it or cancel the order and refund you, even after you've paid. We won't use this to renegotiate a price we simply don't like in hindsight.
7.10 Currency. All prices are in U.S. dollars.
8. Payment, authorization holds, and capture
We process all payments through Stripe. We never see or store your full card number — see the Privacy Policy.
8.1 The two payment models
Which one applies depends on your order, and we tell you which one you're in before you confirm payment.
| Your order | What happens |
|---|---|
| Complete and final — no finishing options, nothing flagged for review | We charge you the quoted amount immediately. |
| Needs review — you selected a finishing or hand-work option, or the order was otherwise flagged | We place a temporary authorization hold, and charge you the real final amount later. See below. |
8.2 Charge-now orders
Straightforward. You see the price, you agree to it, we charge your card, we print your part.
8.3 Authorization holds — please read this carefully
If your order includes finishing or hand-work, or is otherwise flagged for review, we can't know the exact final price until a human looks at it. Here's exactly what happens, and why:
8.3.1 At checkout, we place an authorization hold on your card for the automatically quoted amount plus a padding percentage — currently 50%. So a $60 quote becomes a $90 hold.
8.3.1a Whatever the percentage is, we always show you the exact dollar amount of the hold, on screen, before you confirm payment. You will never be asked to authorize an amount you haven't seen. If the figure at checkout ever differs from the percentage stated above, the figure shown to you at checkout is the one that governs — and it is still a ceiling you cannot be charged above (§8.3.5).
8.3.2 A hold is not a charge. It reserves funds on your card. Your bank will usually show it as a "pending" transaction. Money does not leave your account at this stage.
8.3.3 The hold is a ceiling, not a price. We pad it because our payment processor lets us charge less than or equal to the amount we authorized — never more. So the hold has to be comfortably higher than any realistic final price. This padding is not a fee, and it is not what you will pay.
8.3.4 We then review your job, decide the real final price, and charge you that amount. In practice the final price is usually the original quote or close to it, and is almost always well below the hold. The unused portion of the hold is released back to you.
8.3.5 You will never be charged more than the hold amount. That is a hard technical limit, not just a promise.
8.3.6 Holds expire. Our processor's authorizations typically last about seven (7) days. We aim to review and finalize your order well inside that window. If a hold expires before we finalize, we'll contact you to arrange payment again. We will not print your job assuming an expired hold will pay.
8.3.7 If the real price would exceed the hold — which should be rare, and would mean the job needs substantially more work than the automated quote suggested — we will not silently charge you more, because we can't. We'll contact you first, and you can approve the higher amount, scale the order back, or cancel for a full release of the hold.
8.3.8 How quickly a released hold disappears from your statement is up to your bank, not us. It's usually a few business days, but it can take longer. We can't speed that up.
8.4 Cancellations
- You can cancel for a full refund within twelve (12) hours of placing your order, or before we start printing — whichever comes first. We'll refund you in full or release the hold.
- Two ways to cancel, and both count:
- The cancellation link on your receipt — self-service, instant, no waiting on us.
- Email us at [email protected]. The deadline is the same either way. What matters is when your cancellation reaches us, not which route you used. If the self-service link is broken or unavailable for any reason, email always works and we will honour it on the same terms.
- After that, your parts are custom-made to your specification and have no resale value, so we generally cannot cancel or refund. If we haven't started your job yet, we'll usually still let you cancel — ask, and we'll tell you honestly whether the printer has started. On a multi-part order, we may refund the portion that hasn't started.
- Practically: we often start printing quickly. If you've made a mistake, email us immediately rather than waiting.
- We can cancel too, under §5.3 or §7.2, and we'll refund you in full if we do.
8.5 Refunds and returns
- Custom-manufactured goods are not returnable just because you changed your mind, ordered the wrong thing, uploaded the wrong file, chose the wrong material, or chose settings you now regret.
- If a part is defective under §4.8, §10 applies.
- Any refund we do give is capped at what you paid for the order.
8.5.1 How long a refund takes. We'll be straight with you: the part we control is fast; the part your bank controls is not.
- We submit your refund to Stripe promptly — normally within one business day of approving it, and immediately in the case of an automated cancellation or delay refund.
- After that it's out of our hands. How long the money takes to appear on your statement depends on your bank or card issuer, not on us. It typically takes 5–10 business days, and occasionally longer. We can't speed that up, and neither can Stripe.
- A released authorization hold is not a refund, because no money ever left your account. Your bank may still take a few business days to drop the pending charge from your statement. That's your bank's timing, not a charge.
- If a refund hasn't reached you after 10 business days, email us and we'll send you the Stripe confirmation so you can take it to your bank.
8.6 Chargebacks
If you have a problem, email us first. We're a small operation, a person reads every message, and we will try to make it right. Filing a chargeback without contacting us first is a breach of these Terms, and we may decline to work with you again and may recover our chargeback costs.
8.7 Failed payments
If a payment fails, is reversed, or is disputed, we may stop work, refuse to ship, and cancel the order.
9. Files, storage, and how long we keep things
9.1 We store your uploaded model files and your order records in our Google Workspace (Google Drive) account. See the Privacy Policy for the full detail.
9.2 We delete your model files after 180 days. Uploaded model files are automatically purged 180 days after upload. Keep your own copy of every file you send us. We are not a backup service, and we will not be able to retrieve your file for you after it's purged.
9.3 We keep order and financial records (what you ordered, what you paid, receipts, tax records) longer than 180 days — we're legally required to. See the Privacy Policy.
9.4 We can delete your file sooner if you ask. Email us. Note that we may need to keep the financial record of the transaction even after the file is gone.
10. Limitation of liability
10.1 Our remedy for a defective part. If we made a mistake — a part is defective under §4.8 — tell us within ten (10) days of delivery, with photos, and don't send it back unless we ask you to. At our option, we will either reprint the part or refund what you paid for it. That is the whole remedy, and it is your exclusive one.
10.2 The cap.
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, OUR TOTAL LIABILITY TO YOU — FOR ANY AND ALL CLAIMS ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO AN ORDER, WHETHER IN CONTRACT, TORT (INCLUDING NEGLIGENCE), WARRANTY, STRICT LIABILITY, OR ANY OTHER THEORY — WILL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU ACTUALLY PAID US FOR THAT ORDER.
(In plain English: if something goes wrong, the most you can recover from us is what you paid for the order it went wrong on. If a $20 part fails and damages something expensive, our liability is still $20. §10.3 explains what we're never liable for; §10.7 explains the limits of this limit.)
10.3 What we're never liable for. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost revenue, lost data, lost or damaged files, business interruption, project delays, cost of substitute goods or services, personal injury, or property damage arising from your use of a part we made — even if we were told those damages were possible.
10.4 Shipping. Once we hand your parts to a carrier, risk of loss passes to you. We are not liable for carrier loss, damage, theft, or delay. If you want insurance or signature confirmation, ask us before we ship and we'll arrange it at your cost.
10.5 Delivery timing.
10.5.1 Our commitment. We will dispatch your order within 14 calendar days of taking your payment (or, for review-required orders, within 14 days of capturing your final amount). "Dispatch" means handing your parts to a carrier, having them ready for pickup, or delivering them locally.
10.5.1a If we're going to miss it, you decide what happens next. If we won't make the 14-day deadline, we will email you before that deadline — not after — telling you the new date we expect. That email contains a secure link giving you two choices:
- "Refund my order." We refund you in full (or release the hold) immediately and automatically. You don't have to wait for us, argue, or chase anyone. Your order is cancelled.
- "I'll wait." You accept the new ship-by date shown in that email. If you choose this, the new date replaces the original 14-day commitment for your order, and it becomes the date we're held to. Your acceptance and the revised date are recorded on your order.
If you don't respond, nothing bad happens to you: your order stays fully refundable until it actually ships. We will never quietly keep your money and carry on printing while you're waiting for an answer.
A refund under this section is your sole remedy for a late dispatch.
10.5.2 The estimate is not the commitment. Before you order, the Site shows an estimated delivery date. It combines (a) our estimated dispatch time, based on our current queue, and (b) the estimated carrier transit time to your address. This is an estimate — our honest best guess — and it is not a guarantee.
10.5.3 Carrier transit time is expressly excluded from our 14-day commitment. Once we hand your parts to a carrier, how long they take is not within our control. If the delivery estimate proves optimistic because a carrier was slower than expected, that is not a breach of these Terms, and it is not grounds for a refund. We'll help you chase the carrier; we cannot make it move faster. The only thing we promise is dispatch within 14 days.
10.5.4 For local pickup and local delivery there is no carrier, so the 14-day limit covers the whole thing: ready for you, or in your hands, within 14 days.
10.5.5 We are not liable for delays caused by printer failure, material shortages, failed prints requiring a reprint, illness, carrier problems, or anything else outside our reasonable control — but where such a delay would push us past 14 days, §10.5.1 still applies: we tell you, and you can walk away with your money.
10.6 The Site. The Site is provided "as is." We don't warrant that it'll be available, uninterrupted, error-free, or that automated quotes will be accurate.
10.7 Nothing in these Terms limits liability that can't be limited by law, including for fraud, willful misconduct, or gross negligence.
10.8 You acknowledge this allocation of risk is fair. Our prices are set on the basis that our liability is capped as described here. If it weren't, we would have to charge substantially more, or not offer the service at all.
11. The rest
11.1 Governing law. These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Arizona, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules.
11.2 Where disputes go. Any dispute will be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Pima County, Arizona, and you and we both consent to the jurisdiction of those courts.
11.2.1 Small claims. Nothing above stops either of us from bringing a qualifying claim in small claims court instead. For most disputes about a single order, that's the faster and cheaper venue, and we'd rather resolve it there than anywhere expensive.
11.2.2 There is no arbitration requirement in these Terms. If we ever add one, it will only apply to orders placed after we do.
11.3 Talk to us first. Before starting any formal proceeding, please email [email protected] and give us thirty (30) days to resolve the problem. Most things can be sorted out with an email.
11.4 Force majeure. We're not liable for failures caused by events outside our reasonable control — natural disaster, power or internet outage, equipment failure, supply shortage, labor disruption, illness, government action, war.
11.5 Severability. If any part of these Terms is held unenforceable, that part is cut back to the minimum extent necessary and the rest stays in force.
11.6 No waiver. If we don't enforce something once, we haven't given up the right to enforce it later.
11.7 Entire agreement. These Terms, plus the Privacy Policy and the details of your specific order, are the entire agreement between us on this subject.
11.8 Assignment. You can't assign your rights under these Terms without our written consent. We may assign ours if we reorganize the business (for example, when the business converts to an LLC).
11.9 Independent contractor. We're your supplier, not your partner, employee, agent, or joint venturer.
11.10 Survival. Sections 3, 4, 5, 6, 8.5, 8.6, 10, and 11 survive the end of these Terms.
